Welcome to My Home Page
This home page serves as a means to introduce myself to you and to provide user-friendly informative health materials through Kaiser Permanente resources and helpful web links.
About Me
I received my medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts and completed my residency training in radiation oncology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center. Being a radiation oncologist allows me to combine my interest and background in science with my devotion and compassion to oncology patients. I currently serve as the Medical Director of South Sacramento Cancer Center.
I have interests in general radiotherapy, breast cancer, brain tumors, radiosurgery and head and neck cancer. I have publications in radiotherapy and the treatment of prostate cancer, pediatric malignancy, quality of life/toxicity issues, brain metastases and head and neck cancer.
In addition to English, I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese and conversational in Taiwanese.

My Health Care Practice
"Ren Xin Ren Xu"
This Chinese saying roughly translates into “compassionate heart, compassionate care”. This characterizes my patient care philosophy as it describes my true concern for my patient’s well-being. I believe it is not only important to treat their disease, but also to treat the patient as a whole, since patients are much more than just their disease. This is especially true in cancer care where physical, psychological and social issues can be challenging and constantly changing. My goal is not only to provide state of the art radiotherapy to cancer patients in a comprehensive multidisciplinary team approach, but also to walk with and support my patients during their journey fighting their underlying cancer/disease.
My Outside Interests
I am married with two children. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy international cuisine, travel, swimming and ping-pong.
